Immaculate Heart Community  Advent Retreat 2023 “Cultivating a Discerning Spirit” with Carolyn Metzler December 8-10 on Zoom (Pacific Standard Time): Friday, December 8th, 5:00pm - 7:00pm Saturday, December 9th, 9:00am - 4:00pm Sunday, December 10th, 9:00am - 12:00pm Retreat Facilitator, Carolyn Metzler: “How do we cultivate a discerning spirit in the world? It’s not just about how to move forward but also how to use changing meanings, changing circumstances to identify what holds fast: what is constant, trustable.” In this weekend, Carolyn will help us to explore how we discern with: -The unfolding patterns of our lives, including the ones we would rather not look at -Useful and diverse tools of discernment -The ways we sabotage our own discerning -Responsible Christian faith guiding us in the deliberations of our lives Through poetry, music, stories, movement, art, silence and conversation we can encounter each other in this work together. All people are welcome, regardless of where each is in life. This is a gathered community via Zoom. Donations made in any amount that you wish are appreciated.
