DETAILS

"A beloved nun and social activist offers a soul-stirring guide for all who feel disillusioned and dissatisfied with the power-hungry institutions and systems of this world." The Immaculate Heart Community is hosting a new book club on Zoom starting this month, on The Time Is Now: A Call to Uncommon Courage by Sister Joan Chittister, OSB. In The Time Is Now, Sister Joan—well known as a rabble-rousing force of nature for social justice and fervent proponent of personal faith and spiritual fulfillment—draws on the wisdom of prophets, both ancient and modern, to help us confront the societal forces that oppress and silence the sacred voices among us.  Join us in discussions and reflections as Sister Joan challenges and guides us in this book with her inspirations on how we can "inflame our hearts to change the world". You may purchase the book from your choice of retailers using the link below: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/600100/the-time-is-now-by-joan-chittister/ This new virtual book club will take place on the fourth Saturday each month (except October and December 2024) from 9:00-10:30am Pacific Time, beginning on June 29th. Sessions will include large and smaller group discussions led by rotating hosts, focus questions, related media, journaling and more. The book club is open to all who are interested! Register for the book club to receive Zoom invitations by email before each session. Attend any of the sessions you will be available for!
